I just have to take a look at it and the man start telling
me the story about the watch. He have doing/deliver bracelet
to Rolex a long time ago and a day 20 years ago they call
him and invite him for a dinner. When he got there and after
he have get some food Rolex have give him a box with that watch
inside. They told him it was a gift from the company because
they where very pleased with his work.
It was a all gold 1680 Submariner with the blue dial and he have
wear it since the day he got it. He told me that he still have the
boxes and papers to the watch and he really love it.
He even told me he have bought a Daytona in 78 for $600 and he put
it in a drawer when he got the Submariner. The last year he pull it
out and he take the boxes and papers to the Daytona and send it to
Christies because he never have wear it the last 20 years. The Daytona
have bring in $18 000 to him last year and he close the story with a
big smile and says: I should have buy more of them at 78.
I was really impressed of the old nice man and it was a great
experience to listen to him.
I hope you enjoy the story too.
