Greetings to my Friends in the German Rolex Forum:
Earlier this week Rolex sent me this gorgeous example of the newly redesigned Datejust - this model is solid gold, on a crocodile strap, with matching gold clasp. :gut:
I'll be doing a review of the watch for the US version of CHRONOS Magazine - should be out in about 3 months or so.
I hope you like the photo!

They found the band lug ugly
but maybe better then the old version with the big gap
Kommentar von mir: Es ist doch total blöd die Uhren immer nur noch so zu konstruieren dass man kein Metallband mehr anbringen kann
engl. It seems to me totally stupid to issue the watches only with one band possibility to avoid wearing of metalband instead of leather.

I have to admit that I tend to prefer watches with bracelets over staps for my personal use.

Ich finde sie schön.......schöner auf jeden Fall als die alte DJ mit dem riesigen Zwischenraum, das hat nie gepaßt.

Naah, not all the way polished - a watch for italian waiters :D I prefer the actual design with the covered lugs way more. Frosted gold is so much more debonair and just appears warmer and more elegant.

I reviewed a watch from Roger Dubuis once that was brushed gold....I have to say, my personal preference is polished...bring on waiters!

Very nice pic John, but gold Rolex is not what I would ever like.
What a beauty, John. I like it just the way it is....

Thanks Michael - I've always had a soft spot for yellow gold....my father always wore yellow gold watches...still does.
not worth mentioning :muede:
