After some discussion at a Swedish forum so have we noticed
there is 2 types of claps on Submariners. One for the no date
and one for the date model and the Sea Dweller.
Here I show both of them, at the top a 1680 Sub with date and
at the bottom a 5513 no date. As you can see so is the holes
nearly in a straight line at the no date and itīs more like
2 rows at the date model.

The extension link looks the same.

Here we can see the difference at the security lock itīs
a little more powerful at the date model.

I canīt get what the reason is with this little difference,
the first thing I was thinking about was maybe it should be
easier to handle with gloves. But I donīt think that is the
answer.
Any ideas?
