Greetings to my friends on the German Rolex Forum. :]

My latest acquisition arrived today - a 1984 Datejust. :gut:

My wife has the ladies version of this watch, which I got for her as a wedding gift, so she had been telling me to get the men's version so we'd match. So, with my birthday coming 'round this week, it gave me a good excuse to get another Rolex.

I'm really surprised at how much I like this watch...I didn't think I would because of the size, but now I realize that I needed a dress watch.

Here's a shot of the watch in the vintage style box:

Here's a close up of the watch...as you can see, it's in immaculate shape...some bracelet stretch to be sure, but that's to be expected:

Finally, here's a couple of shots showing how good this watch looks on my wrist with a suit. :gut:

Nice pics! I'm not a fan of bi-coloured watches, though. Either steel or gold.

Thanks much! Yours sound quite lovely...have some photos to share?

I think my first TT watch was purchased in 1992 (a Gucci) and I've been wearing them ever since. :gut:

Those are both very nice...one day I'd like to throw a leather strap on mine and see how it would look. :)

I really like the hands on the 1956 model. Is the dial on the newer one the slate grey color? Brown maybe? It's amazing how the 1969 model looks the same as my 1984 model...which looks the same as the 2003 model my boss has. :gut:

Hallo,

a Leather Strap looks very nice on a Vintage-Dj. believe me ! Just try it, I think you would like it very much !

The Colour of the Dial of my 1601 from 1969 is hard to describe, but i Try it.

It is golden , but a deeper gold then shown on my 6605 DJ. It´s going into a Bronce Tone. I think the best Discription is Gold-Bronce, if you know what I mean. But it is not dark-Brown !

I love this Dial also very much and I am very proud of it. The watch is in a very good Condition, looks like a new One. The original folded Jubilee has onnly a little stretch and looks also very good.

The Hands of the 6605 are very beautifull in my opinion. I love those both watches very, very much !

Greetings

Walti

When taking into consideration the watch is 22 years old it looks perfect. Enjoy and wear it in good health. It's a classic.
