Many thanks for the information, Hannes.

For me the new guarantee-card is not a disadvantage or a step back and I would be pleased to receive my next Rolex with the new card.

Guarantee-cards in creditcard-format are known since a long time, but a card of such high degree is probably unique. For comparison please find following some cards out of my watch-collection:

Girard-Perregaux 1990 without any security marks:

Ebel 1992 with embossed name of the authorized dealer, no security marks:

Zenith 1997 without any security marks:

Omega 2001 with hologram-sticker (Omega-logo):

Rado 2006 with hologram-sticker (Rado-logo):

The new Rolex-card has a much more higher degree and contains three security marks (Rolex-relief, iridescent Rolex-crown und microtext). That does not mean, that skilled counterfeiters could not falsify the new cards, but it will be much more difficult and expensive, than faking the old paper-based documents.

Best Regards
Matthias
