I'm normally not a fan of Roman numeral markers, but I like them on this one. Like? :ea:

Nice picture of a beautiful watch, but the DD is not my favourite watch from Rolex.
Kind regards

Perfect! Although I'd prefer the plain (is it called plain?) bezel and Oyster bracelet...

What a beautiful Day-Date
I like both the Roman and the stickers dial. I have not yet seen the new ice blue waves arab dial, so I don’t know if I like it
I had until November 2007 a Day-Date, 118208 from 2002 in YG with the Oyster bracelet and the “old” claps
Now I have the Day-Date 118206 with Ice blue Roman dial.
Personally I would prefer the president bracelet. It feels better on your wrist and it is not so easy to se scratches on the bracelet
The new concealed claps are much better. I don’t think the Oyster bracelet have the new concealed claps yet!

... (is it called plain?) ...
In the catalog they call it "polished bezel" on the Day-Date.
Your watch, John? 8o :gut:

Some cals it "domed bezel"

Lars
"Domed" it is called on the Datejust models.
"Polished" on the Day-Date.
Why? Only Rolex knows... ;)
The Roman dial is just awesome for the DD. A stunnung watch! Hopefully mine one day.... :verneig:

Hannes - I would think the time which the dial is set to would be all the clue you need to know who owns this watch.

Lars - beautiful!!!! :verneig:
I don't know that I'll ever be able to swing a platinum model, but I've got a friend who bought a vintage WG DD and got an "ice blue" dial....I'm not much for diamonds but I think this combo is fANTASTIC!!

Hi John
I bought my first Rolex in 1982 so I took me 25 year before I could afford my Day-Date in plutonium
My history: 1982 Datejust 16030, 1983 Datejust 16013, 1996 Day-Date 18238, 2002 Day-Date 118208 with Oyster bracelet and 2007 Day-Date 118206
Regards

Wow...quite a progression! So you aren't into the sport models? Just DJs and DDs?

Hi John
My dream has always been a Day-Date from the first day. I love the president bracelet with the concealed claps
I also like the sports model, but because I have gone after the Day-Date I couldn’t afford both
I very much like the new GMT II and the Daytona.
I remember the Milgauss from the catalog from 1982. I should have bought one ore to at that time
Regards
Lars
