SIHH 2009 brought us 2 ver special facts

1* The inhouse P9000 movement.
------------------------------------------------
A nice movement which will probably replace all the ETA based panerais in the future. Doing so Panerai is imo a real manufacture. Respect !

2* the 341 EGIZIANO
------------------------------

Only a few days ago I asked the question why it had to be so expensive. And today I still have this question :-), maybe making a very unique case for only 300 pce costs a lot of money ?, I don't know. BUT I'm sure every die-hard Panerai fan would kill for that piece. I don't know if the 300 privileged Panerai clients who will get one will wear it frequently but I'm sure they will treasure it. Ofcourse 60mm is too big but on the other hand this is imo a pure collectors item which isn't ment to be worn every day. Let me compare it to a very sought after, much more complicated, 10 times better finished watch ... the Patek 2499.
Do you think people who own a PP2499 wear this watch a lot ? I don't think so. They probably wear another Patek and they are very proud and happy that they have a 2499. Probably just looking at it once in a week is enough :-)
I guess it's the same with a Panerai Egiziano. I met some collectors in the last years who own pieces like a 203, or a 21.
I'm sure those and a lot of other collectors would give an arm and a leg to have this 341 too.

IF (and this is the problem :( ) I could afford one I would probably try to get one too. I know that I would not wear it on daily basis but I'm sure it must be a great feeling to own such a historic collectors piece.

Sorry, aber die Gehäuseform mit dem Übergang zu den Hörnern geht garnicht.
