Zum Thema Preisentwicklung vintage Rolex ...

Zum Thema "Vintage Rolex Preise" zitiere ich nun teilweise (mit dessen Erlaubnis) einen bekannten Rolex-Experten und Sammler, der vor kurzem die Lage an der wichtigsten Uhrenmesse in Italien (Parma watch fair) checkte:




..... a big fair with hundreds of dealers, and around 20 watch-sellers
(medium to high "size") ; this fair is very important in Italy also for
understanding the market's trends.
some prices ( in euro )

1) drsd ( no paper ) 12-13 k
2) a fine 6200 at only 75 k !!
3) a fine 6204 at around 25 k
4) pink gold 8171 medium quality (complete calendar snap-back case) at 95 k!!
5) fine case 8171 steel (fine dial but with some spots) at 100 k !!
6) steel PN from 45 to the 65 k of a mint 6262 b & p (however most of them
fakes, as usual)
7) a fake 5513 with explorer dial at 20 k
2 funny military subs (one with a "giant T" and the other with a back
engraving beginning with < 0422 > ......................), no need to search
at Bexley in these cases .........
9) no comex (besides a second series 1665 with the "600" dial in a stand
just for "show" as already sold)
10) standards 6263/5 at 19-20 k without paper, at 23-24 with paper
11) white 1665 at 6-7 k without paper...
12) many 6541 (around 8-9 pieces) in different conditions from 50 to
90 k (with paper)
13) steel 6236 with a brand new dial (maybe genuine but probably a
replacement , not a little problem....) at 110 k......
14) steel gmt 6542 in fine conditions (but with non original bakelite bezel)
at 14-15 k
15) Tudor chronograph very first series ( early '70 ) in top conditions ,
black dial ( !! ) box and paper at 16 k !!!!!!!!!!!
16) top conditions steel 6234 old series ( little counters ) at 38 k..........

general notes :
a) I have noticed that all the stands have less rolex than the previous fair
(this trend has begun 2-3 years ago and each time is worster) : just for
example there were very few "James Bond" subs (I estimate around 50 % less
than 2 years ago)
b) the average quality of the vintage watches decreases every time
c) I have seen "bunches" of contemporary Pateks in most stands...
d) rolex prices continue to grow
e) I have spoken with many sellers and most of them make the politic of <
buy 2 and sell 1 > as they prefer to put away some for the future..... (very
wise in mho ...) ; the most diffused opinion are :
--- " watches in fine conditions are almost finished " and so price will
continue to grow in the future (bad news for people who begin to collect
now..)
--- "delay the sell of some pieces of an year and you will gain a + 10 %
or more" ....
f) the search for the "special deliveries" is still growing : nearly all
dealers
asked me if I had military subs for sale .. my answer was just a laugh....,
and the biggest collector in my country (who has for example ALL the oyster
rolex chronographs) asked me for the first time my opinion on the most
interesting comex to collect... (untill a few months ago about comex he
simply said < puuaaahhh >..).
the 2 finest watches I have seen at the wrists of the collectors were a 6538
with case and dial in 100 % state (!!) and an old Panerai (a "small
Egiziano", really the rarest Panerai model : only 30 pieces made in the
early '50 for the Egyptian Navy).

..... you can believe it or not , but I have just reported what seen in Parma;
in any case :
1) prices in Parma are probably the highest in the world, but the dealers
have almost 15-20 years of experienxce , so they EXPECT to sell some watches
at the requested prices ;
2) don't think that the italian prices are too lower ......
3) maybe you can find in Germany fine watches at very low prices , but
you must also consider the originality and the conditions : it's very
strange that in the last Munchen fairs italian dealers have almost come back
without vintage rolex (they told me that there were for sale almost fakes
or watches in very bad conditions, so they come back with the money ,
excluding the contemporary Patek).

Hallo Max,

da ich mit Parma und München nicht mitreden kann, sondern nur die Börse in Hamburg beurteilen kann, schreibe ich nun doch ein paar Zeilen.

Was einem in Hamburg speziell an Vintage angeboten wird ist meistens überteuerter Schrott. Dies ist mir besonders in den letzten beiden Jahren aufgefallen. Habe auch lange nach einer 5512 Ausschau gehalten und würde ohne Gatsbys Hilfe wohl immer noch suchen.

Gute Vintage findet man meistens nur noch aus Sammlerhand und da zählt als Argument für den Verkauf nur Geld.

Der Händler will aus jedem Scheiss Geld machen und hofft auf die Unwissenheit der Kunden.

Bin gespannt wo die Preise noch hingehen.

Danke für Einstellen! So sieht es aus!!

Es ist kein Nachschub mehr da und die Preise steigen für TOP Ware + Zubehör.

Die Händler jammern und müssen sich von "unten" neue Vintage Modelle zum traden erschliessen.

Vor 3 Jahren hat mir sowohl James als auch Kamal noch gesagt, dass sie keine goldenen Vintage-Sport-Rolexe handeln. Mittlerweilen geht hier die Post ab.

Der nächste "Run" erfasst die 1680 + 1675. Und in 1-2 Jahren kommen die DJ (!) dran.

Sehr interessant und es geht viel schneller, als ich gedacht habe. Es gibt auf Börsen nicht weniger Uhren, nur keine guten mehr. Fast ausschließlich gebastelter Mist.
